CPU GUIDE/TUTORIAL

Well as I don't have an X2 or FX chips on me its hard to give personal accounts as to what the comparisons are like. But here goes:

Compared to Athlon 64, the X2 series of AMD chips average around 70% quicker I think. Most bonuses are seen when running multiple apps. In gaming this could mean you run your game, Xfire and Teamspeak at the same time more smoothly.

With the FX60 you are better off buying its X2 version (think its the 4800 but I need to check this) as its the same just without a raisable multi.

The FX57 is the best single core FX and Athlon 64 chip and shows significant gains over the other chips if I am right.

Intel's Core series of chips are coming out this month, but the Conroe Core Duo's seem very good.

All of the s939 and sAM2 dual core chips I think are beaten by the respective Core Duo and the FX62 is even beaten.

Tbh the new gaming multi-core and laptop core will be the Core Duo's as they are simply better in all areas, or as good as.
